Ken Sereno shares how he’s building important skills in his students through discussion

At first, Packback’s Curiosity Scoring System just seemed like a fun way to get students participating on Packback. But as Ken Sereno heard from students in his Persuasion course, the skills they had to exhibit to get a high Curiosity Score on Packback became valuable skills they were able to apply in other classes.

“One of the things students have told me [the enjoy about Packback] is that the skills they have to use or exhibit to get a high Curiosity Score are skills that they can use in other classes and that they can use in general. The ability to not only to pose a question or to come up with an answer but also explain why the question or the answer is important. To give evidence for the question or the answer. To give sources for the question or the answer. These are skills that they are able to use in other classes in just speaking and expressing themselves and that they can use when they leave school and are professionals.”
