She does this through Packback, a platform where students ask open-ended questions and discuss ethics topics that interest them. Since implementing the platform, Dr. Kennan found that because students are choosing the topics they want to explore, they’ve become much more engaged in the content. They are out there. They’re posting questions. They’re talking to each other. They’re really engaged in the content in a way that I haven’t seen in other discussion forums. And I think that this would be great for grad classes because I know former graduate students, and as a former graduate student, I think that this allows grad students to really express themselves and to bring their own curiosity to the table. And that’s what grad seminars are all about, is you’re sitting around the table talking about different topics, but every student is bringing their own expertise and their own interests to the table. And Packback, that’s what Packback is built for.” Community Stats QUESTIONS 193 AVG CURIOSITY SCORE 67 RESPONSES 383 AVG WORDS PER POST 165 More Faculty Spotlights
